ABOUT.

The Senior Arts Institute will take place at Goodwin House Bailey's Crossroads in Falls Church, VA from May 6 to June 7, 2013. It will consist of four weeks of free, daily arts classes taught by professionally-trained artist-instructors. Classes will be offered from different disciplines, such as theater, dance, music, visual arts, handcrafts, and creative writing.

These free art classes are being offered to senior adults in Fairfax County. The instructors are well-renowned in their field and are excited to share their talents in the Institute.

Research documents the positive impact that creativity has on the health and well-being of older people.  The arts have been at the forefront of Goodwin House since its inception in 1987.  Art at Goodwin House inspires and enriches residents, family member, staff and visitors.  We provide a nurturing, creative learning environment where older adult can discover, create and be inspired by the arts.  We believe that we can share this experience with a larger senior population.

We would like to thank our sponsors, the Arts Council of Fairfax County and Goodwin House Foundation, for supporting the Senior Arts Institute.
